A street connecting Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth might be fully eliminated as a result of flooding and environmental issues.
It’s known as Sawyer Highway in Cape Elizabeth and Sawyer Road in Scarborough.
The street crosses the Spurwink Marsh and floods regularly.
One driver needed to be rescued in January throughout extreme flooding.
Each cities have agreed to pitch in $185,000 to pay for the removing.
The street is anticipated to be gone in three years and changed by two useless finish streets.
